Dear all,

I am a Ph.D. student working on instrumented knee prosthesis.

Using a knee simulator whose parameters are given by ISO 14243-3 (The time
histories for the axial force, internal/external torque, anterior/posterior
force and flexion/extension angles are adopted from ISO 14243-1), how could
I simulate the stiffness and laxity of collateral ligaments (ligament
balancing) during a complete gait cycle for 1 second?

Would it be sufficient if I shift the applied axial force in the medial or
lateral direction to simulate the ligament balancing?

Is there any protocol to simulate the different degrees of ligament
imbalance using knee simulator?

I would be so grateful for any information you could share with me.

Brest regards,

Shaban ALMOUAHED
