> Seeking a Biomechanics Laboratory Technician to support the Center for
> Performance and Clinical Research (CPCR) at Walter Reed Army Medical Center
> (WRAMC), Washington, DC. The CPCR utilizes state of the art technology to
> quantify and interpret movement impairments for injured Service members. CPCR
> staff conducts gait analyses used for answering specific rehabilitation
> questions and conducts research to advance clinical rehabilitation sciences
> associated with injured military Service members. The CPCR staff is a
> multi-disciplinary team and provides the highest clinical rehabilitation
> care while concurrently conducting quality research. The qualified
> candidate must:

> Primary Duties(90%):
>
>
>
> 1) perform collection, processing, and interpretation of data;

>
> 2) maintain and troubleshoot all CPCR instrumentation including but not
> limited to Vicon motion capture system, AMTI forceplates and instrumented
> treadmill, Cosmed metabolic system, CAREN system, and associated
> hardware/software;
>
>
>
> 3) assist with publication of research findings in conference proceedings
> and peer reviewed journals;

>
> Secondary Duties(10%):

>
> 4) provide technical assistance to CPCR staff;
>
>
>
> 5) provide lectures and education of CPCR technologies and practices to
> other WRAMC departments and external facilities as appropriate, and tours of
> the CPCR; and

> 6) assist in manuscript preparation.

> The work involves processing large amounts of various and complex data
> while maintaining a working knowledge of available laboratory resources,
> regulations, and technical requirements.

> REQUIRED SKILLS/KNOWEDGE: A minimum of an earned a Bachelor's degree from
> an accredited institution and knowledge of musculoskeletal biomechanics is
> required. Experience using Vicon Motion Systems optical motion capture
> technology including Workstation/Nexus, Bodybuilder, and Polygon, and
> familiarity with metabolic analysis, force platforms, electromyography is
> highly desirable.

> PERSONAL CONTACTS: Contacts are with coworkers within the CPCR; patients;
> subjects undergoing assessment in the Laboratory; clinical staff within
> WRAMC and researchers both within and outside of the DoD are directed toward

> PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical activity is mostly sedentary but may require
