JOB POSTING: ASSOCIATE IN RESEARCH – DUKE UNIVERSITY INJURY AND ORTHOPAEDIC
BIOMECHANICS LABORATORY

The Injury and Orthopaedic Biomechanics Laboratory in the Department of
Biomedical Engineering at Duke University is seeking an engineering graduate
to serve as a full time Associate in Research for a minimum appointment of
two years. A Bachelor of Science in biomedical engineering or mechanical
engineering is required.

Our primary areas of research are spine biomechanics and head injury
prevention. The responsibilities of this position will include: 1)
experimental work in injury biomechanics of the human head and spine, 2)
model development for crash test dummy research, 3) data acquisition, data
analysis and management, 4) working closely with graduate students and
medical students in various aspects of head and neck injury research. A
willingness to work with biological tissues is required.
