RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Develop and market programs relating to biomechanical analysis and
physiological assessments
· Conduct community outreach projects
· Pursue grant funding
· Provide biomechanical analysis and provide related consultations
· Provide physiological assessments and provide related consultations
· Calibrate and operate variety of equipment, including but not limited
to: computers, high-speed video cameras, force plates, metabolic carts (oxygen
consumption analysis)
· Oversee the utilization and operation of all laboratory equipment and
facilities
· Monitor the quality of services provided by the Laboratory
· Perform and/or supervise maintenance and repair of laboratory equipment
· Provide technical assistance to faculty, staff and students
· Teaching opportunities

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: A Master’s degree from an accredited college or
university that includes a major field of study in biomechanics, exercise
physiology, kinesiology or closely related field is required. A doctoral degree
instated fields is preferred. Must have a minimum of two years of experience
exhibiting responsibility for operation of equipment and testing in a Human
Performance/Biomechanics Laboratory, including contract development and
management along with extensive knowledge of computers and computer software.

APPOINTMENT: Twelve month, full-time administrative position, to begin on July
1, 2009.

SALARY: Commensurate with education and experience. Excellent health and
retirement benefits.

LOCATION: Grand Junction is nestled below three mountain ranges: the
Bookcliffs, the Colorado National Monument, and the Grand Mesa. Grand Junction
is west of the Rockies and 30 miles from the Utah border. The moderate climate
provides year-round recreation activities from fishing to skiing. The city and
valley of approximately 115,000 is the economic hub of the region, located
midway between Denver and Salt Lake City.
THE COLLEGE: Mesa State College is a growing public institution with an

The Department of Kinesiology offers two B.S. Degrees in Athletic Training and
Sports Management, as well as a B.A. Degree in Kinesiology with concentrations
in Adapted Physical Education, Exercise Science, and K-12 Teaching. The Monfort
Family Human Performance Laboratory is a part of the Mesa State College current
campus expansion. This new lab, approximately 2,500 square feet, offers an
exceptional opportunity for a full laboratory director to have a vital role in
the development and expansion of human performance/biomechanical related
programs.
