Tenure-Track Assistant or Associate Professor

The Bioengineering Program at Union College invites applications for a
tenure-track position at the assistant or associate professor level
starting 1 September 2009 in the general area of Biomechanical
Engineering. Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in
the interactions between tissues and materials, with the ability to
acquire and analyze signals from living systems and with an earned
doctorate degree in bioengineering or biomedical engineering.

The successful candidate will be able to (1) teach courses, laboratories
and design studios in the biomechanical track within our newly developed
bioengineering major, (2) direct student research and design projects
and (3) develop and sustain an active research program. Union College
is a nationally recognized leader in undergraduate liberal arts and
engineering education. Engineering at Union College emphasizes close
relationships between students and faculty, research experiences for our
students and experiential learning. Our bioengineering major is
scheduled to be inaugurated coincident with this hire and represents a
natural extension of the many successful bioengineering initiatives
