Dear Subscribers,

Christian Gammelgaard Olesen from the AnyBody Group (Dept. of Mech.Eng., Aalborg University) will be giving a free webcast presentation on Tuesday May 19th on the subject of "Seated Human Model Validation".

The webcast will focus on validation of the seated model available in the AnyBody repository. The model calculates reaction forces between the human body and the chair, and it can be used for various applications, e.g. design of wheelchairs, office chairs, and automotive chairs.

Experiments with an instrumented chair were carried out and included different seated postures, varying seat and backrest angle, and foot and backrest height. The experimental postures were modeled and the results were compared.

Notice that to accommodate viewers from different sides of the planet we are running the presentation twice with 12 hours interval:

First show: Tuesday May 19th 09:00am Berlin - 15:00 (3pm) Beijing - 16:00 (4pm) Tokyo - 17:00 (5pm) Sydney.

Second show: Tuesday May 19th 21:00 (9pm) Berlin - 15:00 (3pm) New York - 12:00 (12pm) San Francisco - 05:00am (Wednesday) Sydney.

The duration of the webcast is approximately one hour including Q&A. The event is free but it is necessary to sign up to participate. Please sign up here http://www.anybodytech.com/index.php?id=921
