Hello,

Our technician is switching to doing a PhD with us so we need a replacement,
with some sort of (bio)mechanics-related experience. Please contact me if

DEPARTMENTAL TECHNICIAN (Structure & Locomotion)
Near Potters Bar, Hertfordshire
c. 25.6K - 30.1K pa inclusive
Fixed term 3 year contract

We are looking for a Departmental Technician to work in the dynamic and
successful Structure and Motion Group. Research to be supported includes
comparative studies on walking and running mammals and birds, as well as
other species and subjects including elephants, dinosaurs, computer
modelling, locomotion on rough terrain and the energetic costs of
locomotion.

The technician will be responsible for assisting all stages of the research
process including training students and staff, aiding the collection of high
quality data, collating and analysing research results, undertaking risk
assessments and implementing COSHH regulations and GRP.

Applicants will have a science-related degree or HND/HNC. Experience
undertaking research in biomechanics, engineering or exercise science is
essential. The applicant should be enthusiastic and highly motivated, with
excellent organisational and interpersonal skills and be able to work with
minimum supervision.
