Fixed term appointment for 4 years
Imperial College has been awarded almost 11million over a 5 year period by the Wellcome Trust and EPSRC for a Centre for Medical Engineering Solutions in the Management of Osteoarthritis. There are a number of departments, divisions and institutes across Imperial College participating in this Centre, which will bring together a critical mass of engineers, clinicians and basic scientists, collaborating to use technology to improve the diagnosis, understanding, surgical management and rehabilitative treatment of osteoarthritis.
As part of this exciting new initiative applications are invited for a Research Associate to work on a 4 year project that forms a key part of the musculoskeletal modelling theme of the Centre's activities, under the leadership of Dr Anthony Bull. This project will focus on musculoskeletal dynamics of activities of daily living and on tissue stresses at the knee joint.
Applicants should have a PhD or equivalent qualification in engineering or physical sciences and an in-depth understanding of the musculoskeletal anatomy of the lower limb.
