The Henry M. Jackson Foundation (HJF) is seeking a Signals Analyst to
support the Helmet Mounted Sensor Recorded Blast Data in Combat Program
the United States Army Aeromedical Research Laboratory (USAARL) at Fort

The United States Army Aeromedical Research Laboratory (USAARL) was
originally established as the United States Army Aeromedical Research
(USAARU) in October 1962. As envisioned by Major General Spurgen Neel,
Army (Retired), the unit's mission was to provide direct aviation
research support to all Army aviation and airborne activities, and to
provide a central aeromedical research and reference library. Technical
evaluation of aircraft and personnel equipment, aeromedical in-flight
observations, and field problems analysis reported by other aviation
agencies were part of the unit's early research program.

1. Responsible for technical support and supervision of operations
auxiliary equipment in laboratory and field research studies.
2. Initiates, designs, implements and evaluates.
3. Signals studies and data supporting the research project.
4. Designs and implements various Signals studies.
5. Provides consultation regarding study design, statistical
and interpretations of the research.
6. Organizes raw data in forms suitable for analysis; organize and
analyze large sets of data.
7. Organizes results of studies into written form for publication,
presentation, or dissemination; additionally, formulate policies and
practices for interventions indicated by analyses.
8. Assists fellow researchers as needed regarding study designs and

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Includes application of the following Signals Analysis fundamentals:
* Transient signals of Impact and Blast Mechanical Vibration
* Modal Analysis
* Frequency and Time Analysis
* Experience in using Numerical Methods
* Pattern Recognition and Characterization
* Strong theoretical and computational methods
* Statistical analysis
* Batch processing for large data sets
* Program and write code
* Utilize Research code
* Familiarity with Pressure and Acceleration traces
* Engineering Mechanics and Dynamics
* Sound Propagation

Requires proficiency in data analysis and presentation techniques using
than one of the following: MS Word / Excel / Power Point, Matlab, DPlot,
Sigma Plot, and Sigma Stat.

Writing: Presents findings and results, in writing or orally, for higher
level review or publication (Tech Reports, Presentations).

Minimum Education/Training Requirements: Master's degree in Electrical
Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Physicists degree (Doctorate

Minimum Experience: 2 to 4 related years

Physical Capabilities: Ability to sit in front of computer for long
