Position Title: Sales Representative (Level II) Reports to: VP of Sales

Department: Sales Department

Vicon is the world leader in motion capture, developing high performance software and hardware products for the educational, research, entertainment, engineering, and medical industries. We have offices in Oxford, Denver and Los Angeles. This position will be located in our Denver, Colorado office.

General Purpose
To identify, qualify and quantify business opportunities. In doing so, sell company products and services to new and existing customers through referrals, lead-generation, lead follow-up and inquiries about the company’s products.

Classification definition
Reasonably independent with day-to-day counsel and assistance once the territorial strategic and tactical sales plans are established with the department Director.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
 Have established basic sales and developmental skills
 Possess advanced selling techniques
 Possess basic negotiating skills
 Independently competent to set-up and demonstrate system effectively
 Requires minimal Department Management assistance to develop and implement sales strategies and tactics for assigned territory
 Responsible for implementation of the Sales Plan for the assigned territory
 Proven ability and proficiency to close sales
 Has basic technical proficiency of entire product line
 Has comprehensive competition and product knowledge
 Responsible for all sales and account activity in assigned territory
 Learning and developing territorial application environment
 Serves as primary contact between the customer and the company
 Solicit and secure orders from existing and potential customers via various direct or indirect methods
 Generates and follows up on quotations generated to the customer
 Provides customer service and support related to quotes and orders
 Requires minimal Department Management assistance to develop and accurately forecasts FY territorial sales and is responsible to meet or exceed the forecasts
 Attends regional trade shows, association meetings, seminars, demonstrations as may be required
 Maintain regular contact with customers
 Accurately and consistently submit contact and sales information into the Sales Data Base

Other Duties
 Performs any directly related and appropriate duties assigned by the VP of Sales
 Performs other duties and special projects as may be assigned

Position Qualifications
 Superior communication skills, clarity and accuracy both orally and written
 Excellent telephone manner to develop and enhance relationships with peers, prospects and customers
 Ability to develop mature and professional business relationships
 Exhibits exceptional presentation skills
 Demonstrates a professional, ethical and moral code of conduct representative of the Company’s standards and principles of Professional Excellence
 Ability to travel 25% domestic (possible international travel)
 Physically handle sales samples and product cases with materials up to seventy pounds

Educational Requirements
Degree required. Advanced training in sales, business management or marketing preferred

Experience Requirements
Three to Five years’ experience in technical, software, computers or systems sales preferred

Working environment and Equipment Experience
General office environment with business and business casual attire. Experience with PC’s, generally recognized office software programs including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, calculators, telephones, copiers and fax machines required.
