Associate Professor in Physiologie of Action and Motor Control
(with Chaire d’Excellence INSERM, Spring 2010)
An Associate Research Scientist position (Chaire d’Excellence INSERM) is
open in the
laboratory Motricité-Plasticité U887 of the Université de Bourgogne in
Dijon (http://www.ubourgogne.
fr). The laboratory is funded by the French National Institute for
Medical Research
and Health (INSERM).
This lab
involved in a multidisciplinary program of research investigating the
central and peripheral
mechanisms underlying the human motor control and its recovery after
lesion or hypo
activity. Among the research developed, the activity of the lab also
focuses on the
mechanisms involved in the production of goal oriented action in normal
adult subject, patient
(strokes, Parkinson) and aging subjects, in collaboration with several
departments of the local
hospital. The team is presently developing a new experimental set up
dedicated to brain
imagery and Transcranian Magnetic Stimulation (TMS). Several grants and
collaborations support this starting project. Applicants should develop
an experimental work
using brain imaging techniques (FMRI) and/or electrophysiological
approach (TMS, EEG or
Teaching will be performed with undergraduate and master thesis
students, more specifically
in the field of motor control, modelling and rehabilitation engineering
(45h/year). Teaching

The appointment will start as the rank of Maitre de Conference with a
bonus and an
additional recurrent grant provided by the Chaire d’excellence. The
Région de Bourgogne
supports this position (program FABER). This position could evolve on a
full professor
position after few years.

Required qualifications include having an earned doctorate in
Neuroscience or related field
and demonstrated evidence of research capability and commitment to
teaching excellence as
appropriate to the candidate’s rank. Desired qualifications include
ability to collaborate on
