A PhD studentship is available to study the mechanisms of work-related
upper extremity disorders in the Department of Kinesiology at McMaster
University in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.

Potential dissertation topics include upper extremity musculoskeletal
loading & control via EMG and computer simulation, factors affecting the
median nerve in carpal tunnel syndrome, strategies for shoulder/arm
control & loading under various conditions . There are opportunities for
clinical and ergonomic applications.

The candidate should possess a solid background in EMG methods,
musculoskeletal modelling, and the ability be work in an active and
cohesive lab setting. Depending on the area of experience in soft
tissue medical imaging would also be beneficial.
