Post-doc in Biomechanics

We are seeking a highly motivated individual for one post-doctoral fellowship at the Laboratory of Locomotor Apparatus Bioengineering.

The focus of the Laboratory, coordinated by Prof. Aurelio Cappozzo, is the biomechanical analysis of human movement in both the sports and rehabilitation fields. Ongoing research includes: methodological studies on joint kinematics and kinetics using stereophotogrammetry, dynamometry, and inertial sensors; the development of methods for biomechanical data processing; the assessment of motor capacity and motor performance of healthy individuals at risk of disability; the biomechanical analysis of sports activities. Requirements of the position is the completion of a PhD in biomedical engineering or a related field (or an equivalent three-year experience), proficiency in computer programming, excellent communication skills, and research experience in a field related to the ongoing work of the lab. The net annual income is about €15,000. The post-doc position is for a period of one year, with the possibility to prolong it up to three years. The position remains open until the appropriate candidate is chosen.

The research activity of the candidate will be focused on investigating how human locomotion basic neural control functions (synergies) are rearranged and organized passing from normal to perturbed level walking, and will be carried out in collaboration with the Human Physiology Laboratory within the same Department.
