POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCHER

To join a team led by Professors Robin Crompton and Matthew Bennett investigating the functional significance of footprints of early human ancestors as a means to reconstruct the biomechanical evolution of the human foot. Your particular role will be dynamic analysis of living human gaits, dynamic modelling of gaits of early human ancestors and finite elements modelling of the resulting footprint formation in a variety of sediments. You should have (or be about to obtain) a PhD in a relevant discipline: bioanthropology, computational mechanics, computer science or engineering, with an excellent background in dynamic modelling (preferably using ADAMS/LifeMod or GaitSim) and/or finite elements modelling (preferably using ABAQUS), and a willingness to learn new techniques and programming languages if necessary.
