Master’s and Doctoral Student Opportunities

The Skeletal Adaptation and Development Laboratory in the Department of
Kinesiology is seeking highly motivated individuals who are interested
in pursuing a master’s or doctoral degree. Applicants should have a
background in kinesiology and/or biomechanics ( cell biology or
biomechanical engineering will be considered). Applicant should have
an interest in bone mechanics and physiology. Please visit the
laboratory’s website for current research projects
Applicants willing to help seek external funding are highly desired.

10 month position beginning August 2010
Location: Temple University, Philadelphia, PA
Position Description: Teaching Assistant
(Research Assitantships and/or Fellowship opportunities based on
funding availability)

Lab Resources:
- Bose Material Testing Machine
- Bioquant Histomorphometry analysis software
- Microscopy facility
- Muffle oven for bone ashing
- Diamond band saw
- Microplate reader

- Matlab
Other software available on-campus as needed

- Earned bachelor’s or master’s degree
- Previous experience in research biomechanics/physiology or related field
- Interest in mentoring graduate and undergraduate students

Stipend: approx $15,000 + full tuition waiver (Fall and Spring).
Temple University offers Ph.D. programs in Integrative Physiology of
Exercise Specialization or Athletic Training. Initial application
