DISCOUNTED REGISTRATION ($50 for 3 day event) - May 1st, 2010

We would like to invite you to attend the 2010 Injury Biomechanics Symposium which will be held May 16th through May 18th, 2010 at The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. The purpose of the symposium is to stimulate and reward strong injury biomechanics research among students and recent graduates. Attendees can expect original biomechanics research in a forum intended to foster communication between developing and established researchers.

We are pleased to announce that 16 universities from around the world will be participating in the symposium. The symposium will feature 8 oral presentations and 15 posters. A small sample of the experimental and theoretical topics to be discussed includes:

• Thoracic Frontal and Lateral Injury
• Dynamic Spinal Cord Deformation Measurement
• Side Impact Air Bags
• Strain Patterns in Real-World Brain Accelerations
• Experimental and FEM Model for Aortic Injury
• 3-D Modeling of Knee Joint
• Whiplash Injury Prevention Using Energy-Absorbing Seat

Other Symposium events will include:

- The 1st Annual IBS Golf Outing will pair students and professionals from government & industry in a scramble format. - Welcome reception including food and drinks at the Varsity Club
- Keynote Address by Dr. Jennifer A. Taylor, PhD, MPH, Assistant Professor in the Department of Environmental & Occupational Health at Drexel University’s School of Public Health
- Guest speakers including
- Dr. Anbesaw W. Selassie, MPH, DrPH, Director of Epidemiology in the Division of Biostatistics and Epidemiology at the Medical University of South Carolina
- Dr. Warren N. Hardy, PhD, Virginia Tech Director of the Center for Injury Biomechanics
- Dr. Douglas J. Gould, PhD, Associate Professor in the Division of Anatomy at the Ohio State University
- Banquet at Woody’s in the brand new OSU Student Union featuring karaoke
- Dr. Margaret H. Hines Award (plaque & monetary award) given to the best oral presenter and best poster presenter

Please note that registering by Saturday, May 1st will qualify you for a reduced registration fee, as indicated on the registration form.
