For those of you who have been following the changes in the Department
of Kinesiology at Arizona State University over the last 3 months, I am
happy to report that the dust is starting to settle and it appears that
we are simply being moved from the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences
(CLAS) to the College of Nursing and Health Innovation (CONHI) within
ASU. Since CONHI does not have "departments" we will be one of their
"programs". We still have more than 1300 majors and plan on adding
additional faculty in the near future. Our immediate need is to replace
one of our outstanding lecturers, Herman Van Werkhoven, who is leaving
to pursue his Ph.D. at Penn State. Herman mainly taught Biomechanics and
Functional Anatomy classes for us. The announcement is shown below. Even
though it says "one year" our lecturers typically renew their contracts
each year. Our teaching needs will not go away after one year. If you
know of a recent graduate looking for a teaching job in our exciting new
"Program in Kinesiology" please direct them our way. We need someone to
start in August 2010. Please contact me if you have any questions. Thank
you.

Regards,
