View Full Version : whole-body vibration and gait

My name is Kate Faust and I am a Masters student at Ball State University in Muncie, IN. I am interested in looking at the acute effects of whole body vibration on gait parameters (specifically dealing with hamstring length) for children with cerebral palsy. I have looked through much literature and have found many sources discussing vibration vs. resistance training, vibration effect on muscle activity, balance, ROM, force production, stretch reflexes, EMG activity, and vertical jump. However, I have not been able to find research dealing directly with vibration's effect on gait, and in particular children with cerebral palsy.
If anyone is aware of any studies addressing these or similar issues I would greatly appreciate hearing from you. I will post a summary of the responses I receive on this question to the newsgroup.
Thank you.
