Full-time Research Associate

Rehabilitation Science Research Laboratory

Applications are invited for a full-time research associate position in
the Rehabilitation Science Research Laboratory of the Department of
Physical Therapy, Creighton University. The successful candidate will
join in a team with a spectrum of expertise in movement science,
rehabilitation engineering and clinical research. The primary
responsibilities of the position are to participate in recruiting
subjects, scheduling tests, data collection, and processing of research
examining physiological and biomechanical characteristics of motor
symptoms in individuals with movement disorders. An important emphasis
of the position is to assist in submission of manuscript and grant
related to laboratory research initiatives. Other responsibilities
include laboratory record keeping, preparing graphics, setup of
laboratory tests, calibrating/maintaining equipment and ordering
supplies.



Applicants should have a master's degree in one of the following
disciplines or a related area: biomedical engineering, biomechanics,
mechanical engineering, exercise science, kinesiology. Experience in
biomedical measurements of human movements and Matlab programming are
highly desirable.



The Creighton Rehabilitation Science Research Laboratory is focused on
analysis of movements with particular emphasis on persons with
neurologic or orthopedic impairments. The laboratory is equipped with a
Biodex, MotionAnalysis Hi-Rez system using EvA RealTime, Kintrack and
Orthotrak software running on Windows XP computing platforms,
custom-built apparatus measuring upper extremity movements, bodyweight
supported treadmill, a force platform, two electromyography systems
(Delsys and Motion Lab Systems; both surface and fine wire),
accelerometers and footswitch/event markers
