The Musculoskeletal Research Center in the Department of
Bioengineering at the University of Pittsburgh is searching to fill an
immediate Postdoctoral opening in patellofemoral joint biomechanics. The
main focus of the funded research position will be to validate a finite
element model of the patellofemoral joint through in-vitro
experimentation. Additional goals include determining the relationship
between the mechanical properties of the cartilage tissue and the
deformational behavior of the patellofemoral joint during loading.

The successful candidate will work under the guidance of Drs. Richard
Debski and Shawn Farrokhi. The post-doctoral position is funded for one
year with an option for a second year. A PhD degree in mechanical
engineering, bioengineering, biomechanics or a related field is preferred
Starting Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Responsibilities include: creating and running finite element models of
the knee joint, in-vitro cadaveric experimentation, and cartilage tissue

The Musculoskeletal Research Center (MSRC) was established in 1990 for
the purpose of developing integrated programs on orthopaedic education
and research. The MSRC is a flourishing enterprise where engineers,
biologists and clinicians get together with the help of a dedicated staff, to
guide and teach qualified students and research fellows. Further
information about the MSRC can be found at http://www.pitt.edu/~msrc.

Interested applicants should email a single PDF file containing a cover
