The School of Kinesiology and Recreation invites applications for the
position of a tenure-track, Assistant or Associate Professor in Athletic
Training, beginning in August, 2011.

QUALIFICATIONS: Doctoral degree required in Kinesiology, Higher
Education, or a related field with a specialization in Athletic Training
desired. Applicants with expected completion of doctoral degree before
March, 2012 will be considered. The individual must have a minimum of 3
years of Board Certification (BOC, Inc.) in good standing as an Athletic
Trainer and must hold or be eligible for Illinois Licensure as an
Athletic Trainer. Experience in supervision of athletic training
clinical experiences is expected. College teaching experience is
desirable. For consideration at the associate professor level,
applicants should have an appropriate record of teaching excellence and
scholarly productivity.

1) TEACHING: Provide quality instruction in undergraduate and graduate
courses, as needed, for the Athletic Training Education Program. Direct
independent studies, graduate research projects, and theses.
2) SCHOLARSHIP: Develop a focused area of scholarship that culminates
in nationally refereed publications and professional presentations, be
involved in scholarly projects with faculty and students, and submit
grant proposals. Focused scholarship in the areas of biomechanics or
manual therapy highly desirable.
3) SERVICE: Participate in faculty meetings and School activities. Serve
on School, College, and/or University Committees and contribute to
professional organizations. Advise majors regarding general career
options and professional matters.

APPOINTMENT: Tenure track, nine-month position. Salary is competitive
and is commensurate with qualifications and experience with a
comprehensive benefits package.

October 11, 2010 and continue until the position is filled. The position
begins August 16, 2011. Candidates must be legally eligible to work in
the United States at the time of employment.

RELATED INFORMATION: The Athletic Training Education Program is a part
of the School of Kinesiology and Recreation
(http://www.kinrec.ilstu.edu), located in the College of Applied Science
and Technology (http://www.cast.ilstu.edu). Construction of a state of
the art Student Fitness Center and McCormick Hall building is scheduled
for completion by January, 2011. The undergraduate program is accredited
by CAATE and the graduate program is accredited by the NATA as a
post-professional program. The undergraduate Athletic Training program
became initially accredited in 2001 and was subsequently re-accredited
in 2006. There are approximately 118 undergraduate students majoring in
Athletic Training and 18 graduate students in the Athletic Training
