Post-doctoral Fellowship in Neuromuscular Research at the Kessler
Foundation Research Center

The Kessler Foundation Research Center (West Orange, New Jersey) is
recruiting a postdoctoral fellow to conduct research in electrical
stimulation and neural adaptations after spinal cord injury. This
fellowship is funded by an Advanced Rehabilitation Research Training
(ARRT) grant from the National Institute on Disability and
Rehabilitation Research (NIDRR). The position is open and applications
are being accepted until it is filled. This fellowship is expected to
last for a two year term.

Qualifying candidates must have an earned doctorate in engineering
(e.g. biomedical, rehabilitation, mechanical), biomechanics,
kinesiology, or a related field. Strong candidates will have prior
experience in performing research studies in human subjects, as well as
some history of publication and presentation of original research.
Additional desirable skills and experience include: experience with
medical imaging, EMG collection/analyses, and the ability to
independently to develop processing methods for data analysis (using for
example Matlab or Labview), knowledge of statistical data analysis,
experience with motion analysis, and excellent written communication
skills.

The Kessler Foundation Research Center is a division of Kessler
Foundation, a public charity that advances its mission of improving the
lives of people with disabilities through research and grant-making
programs. The Kessler Foundation Research Center is affiliated with the
renowned Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation in West Orange, New Jersey
and enjoys close collaborations with partners at the New Jersey
Institute of Technology, Rutgers- The State University of New Jersey,
Seton Hall University, New York University, and the University of

Administration of the ARRT fellowships occurs under the Department of
Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation by the University of Medicine and
Dentistry of New Jersey - New Jersey Medical School in Newark. As such,
fellows enjoy the benefits and academic resources available to all
post-doctoral fellows at the Medical School. Fellows may also be
recommended for an academic appointment at the rank of Instructor.

Letters of recommendation: The search committee will ask well qualified
