The Hand and Upper Extremity Rehabilitation Laboratory at the University
of Wisconsin-Milwaukee is seeking a highly motivated graduate student to
pursue research in the field of biomechanics and neurorehabilitation.

Ideal applicants should have a BS or MS degree in biomedical,
mechanical, industrial engineering, kinesiology, neuroscience, or a
related discipline. Research experience with human subjects, motion
analysis, force transducers, EMG, TMS, muscle/nerve stimulation,
musculoskeletal modeling, statistical analysis software, and/or
programming (MATLAB, LabView) is a plus.

The labís specific research interests include:
1. Understand neurophysiologic and biomechanical mechanisms for poor
hand function following aging or neurologic disorders such as stroke.
2. Develop rehabilitative interventions and employ ergonomic design to
improve the quality of life for persons with sensorimotor impairment.
