The Department of Physical Therapy, University of Toronto invites applications for a tenure-stream appointment. The appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor with an anticipated start date of January 1st, 2012.

The Department is seeking applications from highly motivated individuals with a doctorate in a health related field, post-doctoral training, and preferably with a degree in physical therapy. Individuals should be able to demonstrate evidence of excellence in research productivity, innovative scholarship and a commitment to excellence in teaching. Recruiting individuals with excellent leadership and interpersonal skills as well as experience working with multi-disciplinary research teams and clinical colleagues is important to our academic mission. Applicants should have a keen understanding of the basic and applied aspects of their research as well as awareness of current physical therapy practice. Priority will be given to individuals with a promising publication record in refereed journals and a productive research program supported by external funding. Successful candidates will be expected to teach in the MScPT professional program and to supervise MSc and PhD students as a cross-appointed faculty member in the department of Rehabilitation Science (www.utoronto.ca/gdrs.) Candidates should be eligible for an academic appointment. Salary to be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
