Position Description:
Simbex (www.simbex.com) is currently seeking a biomechanics researcher to assist with ongoing studies
related to head and musculoskeletal injuries. Primary research areas include 1)
Understanding the pathomechanics and clinical sequelae of mild traumatic brain injury
(commonly referred to as concussion) resulting from blunt head impact in sports and blast
events in both the civilian and military population and 2) Evaluating the effects of
neuromuscular training on balance and injury recovery. We are seeking a talented and
motivated individual with strong experimental and analytical skills who can efficiently
work across a wide range of topics in the field of biomechanics. The applicant will be
responsible for creating and executing experimental protocols, will support data
preparation for multivariate statistical analysis, and assist in preparation of
scientific manuscripts.

Essential Functions:
Provides both basic and applied research support to the Director of Research
Utilizes information contained in current biomechanical databases and analytical
methods to address aims of on-going studies funded by the National Institutes of
Health, the National Science Foundation, and the Department of Defense
Assists with preparation and submission of manuscripts to scientific journals
Responsible for maintaining rigorous documentation of data collection for on-going
studies and analysis techniques used for reviewing data.
Monitors progress of research projects and creates summary presentations for both
internal and external review.
Actively conducts literature reviews to assess and disseminate key findings relevant
to Simbex developments
Works with engineering staff to create product requirements based on historical
literature review and internal study results
