The FDA / NHLBI / NSF are hosting their 4th annual workshop on computer methods for medical devices: Validation of computer and nonclinical models

The workshop will be held at the Food and Drug Administration, White Oak Campus, Silver Spring, MD

This workshop furthers the FDAs Critical Path Initiative and intends to address barriers in computer modeling for different types of medical devices. This year, in addition to cardiovascular devices, the workshop will include other device specialties, in particular neurology and orthopedic.
This years workshop will focus on (i) how computer modeling is being used in device areas other than cardiovascular and (ii) how to validate computer and nonclinical models.
We aim to bring together researchers in academia, private industry and government agencies to discuss research and application of computer modeling.
We are most interested in hearing your perspectives on computational modeling which furthers the design or evaluation of medical devices.
