Xsens, the leading innovator in 3D motion tracking, today announced the release of two demonstrators for gait and shoulder analysis (http://www.xsens.com/en/mtw?tab=4) based on data measured by Xsens’ completely wireless motion trackers (MTw).

The demonstrators enable fast and easy analysis of upper and lower limb motion and utilise the unique combination of Xsens’ completely wireless technology, the MTw development kit, with scientifically validated protocols ISEO™ and OUTWALK™, published by INAIL. Both protocols are validated research protocols based on inertial sensor technology for upper limb (ISEO) and gait (OUTWALK) analysis.

“We supply top of the range prostheses, and now use this new technology to prove the value of our prostheses to the hospitals, insurance companies and most importantly, of course to the user."

- Janos Kalmar, Ottobock

The demonstrators have been made available to a select number of leading research institutes, hospitals, healthcare manufactures and insurance providers around the globe. Notably Ottobock, the world market leader in state of the art prostheses is among the first users.

Janos Kalmar, Program Manager Upper Extremity Prosthetics from Ottobock explains: “We supply top of the range prostheses, and now use this new technology to prove the value of our prostheses to the hospitals, insurance companies and most importantly, of course to the user.”

This latest move builds on Xsens’ vision to create easy access to accurate, ambulatory, 3D movement analysis.
