I am a doctoral student in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the
Technion-IIT, Haifa, Israel, under the supervision of Dr. Gideon Ishai.
My dissertation, due to be completed April 1995, is on "Control Strategies in
Human Gait".
I am interested in a post-doctoral research or any other research position.
I also received my M.Sc. (1990) from the Technion, with my thesis on
"Investigation of Gait Control Assisted by a Multi-link Model of the Locomotor
System", under the supervision of Dr. Gideon Ishai.
My work established the equations of motion of a multi-link system of
bifurcated chains. An algorithm was developed to deal with continuous
constraints (e.g., two legs on the ground) and with impulsive constraints
(e.g., the formulation of contact between foot and ground). In my M.Sc. a
computer simulation of the locomotor system was developed, represented by an
11-link model. Gait performance was tested, using two control schemes
(the "actuator approach" and the "impedance approach"), in landing on a bump
in the floor and into a depression in the floor. In my Ph.D. a computer
simulation of the locomotor system was developed represented by a 9-link
model, and a controller based on Sensory-Motor principles. The Control of the
different phases of walking was achieved by the combination of an "open loop"
controller (based on preprogrammed torque and impedance patterns) and a
"closed loop" controller (correction of global parameters related to gait
process stability, utilizing feed-forward to account for delays in the system).

1994 I have worked in a factory of industrial ventilation. I was engaged
in design of industrial ventilation systems, coast proposals and
supervision of manufacturing and setting up.
1991-1993 I have taught courses in the department of Mathematics at the
Technion:
Ordinary and partial diff. equations.
Development of locomotion laboratory facility consisting of
real-time kinematics and Force plate measurements. The development
included programming processing of TV information: calibration,
filtration, differentiation etc.
1988-1990 I have taught courses in the Department of Mechanical Engineering
at the Technion:
Dynamics, Interactive computer graphics and Manufacturing processes.

5. Fields of interest

Research pertaining to analysis and synthesis of limb's kinetics in human,
animals and robots biomechanics and control of locomotion.
Analysis : measurement of human movement; transducers for kinematics and load
measurements; sampling and processing of measured information; modeling to
establish joint's kinematics and loads.
Synthesis: simulation of the dynamics and the control of multi-link systems.
