Dear Biomechanists
BIOMCH-L is the closest thing on the Net to sport science, but it
doesn't meet the needs of those of us interested in performance enhancement
by whatever means. Hence this new list.
Please forward this message to any nonbiomechanist colleagues you think
might be interested.
Thanks.

SPORTSCI is an open mailing list for everyone interested in using
science to enhance performance in sport.

APPROPRIATE TOPICS (in alphabetical order)
conferences
employment opportunities
ergogenic aids
field and physiological tests
nutrition, diet and supplementation
sport in extreme environments
technological developments and new equipment
training (specificity, periodization, overtraining)
topics from biochemistry, biomechanics,
biostatistics, motor learning, sport medicine,
sport psychology or other disciplines if related
directly to performance enhancement

INAPPROPRIATE TOPICS
exercise of nonathletes
moral or social issues
research directed solely at mechanisms
sports injuries and other health issues unrelated
to performance enhancement
uninvited advertising

WHO SHOULD SUBSCRIBE?
Academics, research students, coaches, athletes, or anyone
else with a background or interest in sport science or
performance enhancement.
This is a new list (Dec 1994), so mail will be sparse until
we reach a critical size. Please forward this file to anyone you
think might be interested in subscribing.

HOW DO I SUBSCRIBE?
Send an email message to:
majordomo@stonebow.otago.ac.nz
The message should state simply:
subscribe sportsci
If you have an automatic signature, either suppress it or add
"end" (without quotes) on the line after "subscribe sportsci".
