CREIGHTON UNIVERSITY
DEPARTMENT OF PHYSICAL THERAPY
FACULTY POSITIONS AVAILABLE

DATE OF NOTICE: December 6, 1994

The Department of Physical Therapy is searching for qualified
applicants to fill THREE newly created faculty positions.
Applications will be reviewed upon receipt and the positions will
be available July 1, 1995.

POSITION 1 - Faculty member with expertise in the neurosciences.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Licensed or eligible for physical therapy licensure in state of
Nebraska, USA.
- Doctoral degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years experience with emphasis on neurology, motor
control or neurosciences preferred. Patient care experience is
necessary and teaching experience is highly desirable.
- Evidence of scholarship.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Participate in instruction of neurology at the basic and
clinical science level to include physical therapy intervention
in patients with neurological involvement.
- Participate in scholarly activities associated with the area of
expertise.
- Serve on selected departmental, college and university
committees and participate in professional organizations.

APPOINTMENT:
- Tenure track; academic rank is dependent on qualifications.

POSITION 2 - Faculty member with expertise in basic science.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Licensed or eligible for physical therapy licensure in State of
Nebraska, USA preferred.
- Doctoral degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of patient care and/or teaching experience
with focus on anatomy, histology or other basic science relevant
to the study of physical therapy.
- Evidence of scholarship.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Participate in instruction of basic sciences to include
anatomy, histology or other basic science within the physical
therapy curriculum.
- Participate in scholarly activities associated with the area of
expertise.
- Serve on selected departmental, college and university
committees and participate in professional organizations.

APPOINTMENT:
- Tenure track; academic rank is dependent on qualifications.

POSITION 3 - Faculty member with expertise in physical therapy
management of neurological disorders and/or musculoskeletal
disorders.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Licensed or eligible for physical therapy licensure in State of
Nebraska, USA.
- Minimum of Masters degree; Doctoral degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of patient care and/or teaching experience
with focus on physical therapy management of patients with
neurological disorders and/or musculoskeletal disorders.
- Evidence of scholarship.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Participate in instruction of clinical sciences to include
physical therapy intervention in patients with neurological
involvement and/or musculoskeletal dysfunction.
- Participate in scholarly activities associated with the area of
expertise including leading an effort to organize clinical
research at regional clinical sites.
- Serve on selected departmental, college and university
committees and participate in professional organizations.

APPOINTMENT:
- Academic rank and availability of tenure is dependent on
qualifications.

the School of Pharmacy and Allied Health and was the first to
offer the entry level doctorate (DPT) for physical therapists.

teaching, scholarship and clinical practice.
