Three vacancies exist and may be filled at one or more of the above

This newly reorganised department within the Faculty of Health and
Behavioural Sciences has a mandate to create a strong, research-
orientated department dedicated to producing quality graduates in the
health and biomedical sciences. A new building to house the Faculty is
under construction and will include excellent research and postgraduate
facilities. Undergraduate courses include Biomedical Science, Human
Movement Science and a new 4-year program in Exercise Science. The
department services the Anatomy and Physiology disciplines for the University.

Department research focuses on the roles of diet, exercise and genetic
factors in health and disease. Particular research strengths are in
energy balance, diabetes, exercise and environmental physiology, central
and autonomic nervous systems, stress physiology, BIOMECHANICS, ageing and

cell culture to human clinical studies.

One of the successful applicants will be expected to contribute to the
undergraduate and postgraduate teaching program in the area of exercise
science/rehabilitation and should have qualifications in such areas as
exercise physiology, pharmacology, CLINICAL BIOMECHANICS or rehabilitation
medicine. Excellent opportunities exist within the University and the
Illawarra Area Health Service for interdisciplinary research and
clinically qualified applicants are encouraged to apply.
