View Full Version : Force-Velocity rel.

I am studying jumping performance in bushbabies. Calculations suggest an
extremely high instantaneous power output for the knee extensors : > 2000
W/kg muscle ! For several reasons I believe this cannot be attributed to
power amplification by in series elastic components. Who can give me
information (references) about vertebrate skeletal muscle with unusually
high instantaneous power output or extraordinary force-velocity
characteristics. Someone told me already about extremely fast cat jaw
muscle, but could not give further details. If someone should know about
muscle physiological studies (force-velocity data) on Galago senegalensis
leg muscles other than Hall-Craggs '74, I would be very glad to get the
reference !

I look forward to replies !! Thanks !!!!!
