POSITION OPENING ANNOUNCEMENT

POSITION TITLE: Sport Biomechanist

LOCATION: Olymplc Training Center, Colorado Springs, CO

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide service to the USOC membership as a
member of the Sport Science & Technology Division. Provide
leadership in the U.S. scientific and technical communities in the
application of sports science and technologies to athletic
performance. Responsibilities are in the areas of service,
development and education. Initiate and maintain effective working
relationships with USOC member organizations to identify and
develop projects and programs which will contribute to high
performance. Serve primarily as Team Leader or Team Member on
designated projects, based on expertise or experience. Provide
expertise in field of professional specialization to all Division
programs and projects. Initiate and maintain professional
relationships with individuals from academic, corporate and private
sectors for purpose of leveraging support for Division's mission:
donations of time, personnel, resources, equipment and funding for
divisional, USOC grant-funded and NGB-funded projects. When
required, serve as spokesperson for Division; present information
at events sponsored by various groups within USOC, NGB, academic,
or corporate communities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Ph.D. in biomechanics or related area; 3
years or more experience, must have sports biomechanics training or
experience; strong publication record; expertise in one or more of
the following areas: analysis of athletic motion, quantification of
forces in sports performance, three-dimensional video analysis of
sports performance; good supervisory skills; excellent
communication and public speaking skills.
