POSTGRADUATE RESEARCH SCHOLARSHIP - SOFT TISSUE MECHANICS

Department of Mechanical and Mechatronic Engineering
The University of Sydney

A postgraduate scholarship (or possibly two) (PhD) is available
for 3 years in the area of soft tissue mechanics. The research
project will include both mechanical testing and rheological
modelling of the mechanical behaviour of a variety of soft
biological tissues. The project is part of a research program
in soft tissue mechanics and injury biomechanics, and involves
staff from both biomedical engineering and rheology groups
within the department. The scholarship is being funded from an
Australian Research Council grant (Rheological properties of
soft biological tissues) and is available starting January 1
1996.

Applicants should have (or complete in 1995) a bachelors degree
in mechanical or biomedical engineering with honours, or
equivalent.
