Dear Biomch-L subscribers

I am looking to update our force platform set up and would welcome
any advice, hints, tips, anecdotes etc on the selection of data
acquisition software.

The platform is to be used for a broad spectrum of activities from
clinical studies to sports science applications and will be used for
research and undergraduate teaching. The platform is a standard
Kistler plate with mounts available both inside our lab and outside
at the Universities sports fields some distance from the campus; so
any system we use needs to be relatively portable.

I am currently considering i) Kistler's own software and interface,
ii) PRO-VEC software and interface (supplied by MIE medical research
UK, though I believe it is BERTEC software), or iii) using a
CED1401plus interface (from Cambridge Electronic Design, UK)and
either their SPIKE2 or SIGAV software using EXCEL for detailed
analysis. Whatever solution we choose it must be PC based.

If you have used any of these, or can recommend others (preferably
those easily available in the UK), I would be glad to hear from you.
I will, of course, post a summary of replies.

Thanks, Neil.
