Dear friends:

Since the studies of Ikai & Fukunaga, the ultrasonic measurement has
been the most used to estimate the physical cross section area of muscles.
But, I would like to know more about the earlier methods to the
calculation of the cross section area based on measurements of the total
limb circumference, with corrections for fat and bone tissues.
I didn't find anything like this in the studies of Hettinger, 61;
Ikai & Fukunaga, 68, 70 and Komi, 84, for example.
Please, I'd like to know what is the equation to estimate the cross
section area of the elbow flewors based on arm circumference (and the
reference).
Somebody can help me ? Thank you in advance.
