Dear subscribers,

In my phd-studies I am currently working on structured

arterial trees, but I lack information on how various

generations of branches scale in length.

Several papers describe how the *radius* between two successive

generations change, but I have seen only one reference addressing

how the length of a branch is related to the trunk:

It says that in general

(for small arteries) the length of the

branch in consideration would be approximately:

l = c r

where c is constant and r is the radius of the branch (I assume this is

constant throughout the branch).

I need to know whether this relation is reasonable and whether other

relations have been proposed.

I realize that that this is not a typical posting for

this list, but I hope that there is someone who can help me with this

problem.
