Faculty Position - Biomechanics

The School of Physical and Health Education, Queen's University at
Kingston, invites applications for a three-year renewable tenure track
position at the rank of Assistant Professor (salary will reflect
qualifications and experience). The appointment will commence July 1, 1997
(subject to negotiation). The successful candidate will hold a Ph. D.
specializing in Biomechanics from a background in physical education,
kinesiology, mechanical engineering, or a related area.

The biomechanics program at the undergraduate level has emphasized sport
biomechanics, whereas the graduate program has emphasized occupational and
basic biomechanics and ergonomics. The successful candidate will be
expected to teach courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
The candidate must also show evidence of strong research training with the
ability to conduct independent and collaborative research within an
interdisciplinary research team. It is expected that the successful
candidate will develop her/his own research area and contribute to the
collaborative activities of the Ergonomics Research Group or Health and
Lifestyle Centre.
