POSITION Tenure track position for an assistant (preferred level of
appointment) or associate professor with an emphasis in anatomy and
biomechanics. Salary - $37,140-47,928, commensurate with qualifications.
Responsibilities: 1) Teach lecture and laboratory courses in
musculoskeletal anatomy, undergraduate and graduate biomechanics with
applications focusing on physical therapy, exercise, and sport. 2) Teach
other courses consistent with the candidate's capability. 3) Direct and
maintain the Biomechanics Laboratory and pursue a research program in
biomechanics leading to publications in appropriate journals. 4) Pursue
internal and external funding to support and enhance teaching and
research activities, preferably those that are interdisciplinary in
nature and include participation of students. 5) Supervise and guide
undergraduate and graduate research projects and master's theses. 6)
Serve as faculty advisor to pre-physical therapy majors and to the
Pre-Physical Therapy student club. 7) Engage in other service-related
duties in the department and University community.

QUALIFICATIONS An earned doctorate in PE with a specialization in human
biomechanics or other appropriate terminal degree. Preference will be
given to candidates with 1) a background in physical education; 2)
demonstrated competencies in structuring and teaching biomechanics
including laboratory experiences and successful teaching experience at
the college level; 3) publications in refereed journals; 4) evidence of
ability to attract external research grants; and 5) willingness to
interact effectively with faculty of diverse academic backgrounds so as
to foster interdisciplinary research activities.

DEPARTMENT The Physical Education and Kinesiology Department offers the
Bachelor and Master of Science Degrees in Physical Education and
Kinesiology with currently more than 370 Physical Education Majors
enrolled in four concentrations: Teaching, Corporate Fitness,
Pre-physical Therapy, and Health. The Biomechanics and Motor Behavior
Laboratory includes equipment available for teaching labs and research
(2D MotionPlus, 3D Peak performance video analysis with software and A/D
acquisition, and various timing devices. Additional information about
