Symposium on Dynamics, Control, and Design of Biomechanical Systems.

A joint symposium, co-sponsored by the Biomechanical Systems and
Systems Theory Committees of the Dynamics Systems and Control
division and Design and Rehabilitation Committee of the
Bioengineering Division of the American Society of Mechanical
Engineers (ASME) in the International Mechanical Engineering Congress
and Exposition that will be held in Dallas Texas, USA on November
16-21, 1997. The symposium will cover the following themes:

* Computer Modeling
* Human-Machine Systems
* Measurement and Data Processing
* Mathematical Modeling of Physiological and Biomedical
Engineering Systems
* Prosthetics, Orthotics and assistive devices
* Methods and Instrumentation
* Simulation and Optimization in Biomechanics
* Normal and Non-Normal Locomotion
* Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation
* Assessment of Muscle Function
* Clinical and Orthopedics Biomechanics
* Occupational Biomechanics
* Sport Biomechanics

The accepted papers are expected to be based on sound
engineering approach and demonstrate innovative application of the
principles of dynamics, control and mechanical design to
bioengineering problems. One page abstracts are due by January 15th,
and full papers are due by Feb. 15, 1997 and should be submitted to
the organizers. Submission of abstracts via e-mail is accepted and
