I'm in the process of piecing together equipment for a set-up in which
humans walk on a treadmill in a simulated visual environment. As the
subjects are wearing a head-mounted display they have no idea where they
are in the real world, so I want to control treadmill speed to avoid
falling off. Does anyone have experiences with these?

If this topic generates enough interest, I will summarize my findings.
