The School of Recreation and Physical Education at Acadia University invites
applications for a tenure-track appointment, Position #30312, at the Assistant
Professor level, up to Grid Step 4, beginning 1 July 1997. Applicants should
have completed a doctoral degree by the appointment date. While the successful
applicant's primary responsibly will be in teaching Biomechanics, demonstrated
teaching expertise in one of the following areas is also desirable: Fitness And
Wellness, Exercise Psychology, Anatomy And Physiology. Other duties may
include teaching activity courses and courses deemed necessary by the program,
which will fit the candidates expertise. The successful candidate will be
expected to develop a program of research and scholarly activity in
Biomechanics. The Acadia Advantage program, which has transformed Acadia into
an electronic campus, is an initiative to incorporate computer technology into
the learning process. Thus the applicant must have advanced technology skills
in order to participate and contribute to this initiative.
