DESCRIPTION: Ithaca College Department of Occupational Therapy announces
openings for three full-time, nine month faculty positions starting in August,
1997. Faculty are needed with expertise in physical and psychosocial
disabilities, pediatrics and occupational therapy theory, as well as kinesiology
and neuroscience. Faculty will have the opportunity to teach undergraduate
and graduate specialty courses. Duties include teaching and course
development, student and thesis advisement, curriculum development and
evaluation, participation in Department, School, and College committees,
and collaborate with the fieldwork coordinator.

QUALIFICATIONS: It is desired that qualified applicants will be registered
occupational therapists with a master's or doctoral degree. For tenure-eligible
postitions the master's level candidates must be willing to seriously pursue the
doctorate. Consideration will be given to doctoral candidates who not have OT
registration, but do have a background to teach some of the basic science
courses such as kinesiology and the neurosciences, and/or provide expertise in
other areas such as assistive technology. This background includes motor
control, biomechanics, bioengineering, rehabilitation sciences, neuroscience,
or related field. Doctoral candidates may be expected to pursue an occupational
therapy degree on or off the Ithaca College campus.

RANK/SALARY: Academic rank and salary are commensurate with experience

DEPARTMENT: The Ithaca College Occupational Therapy program in an innovative,
developing, five-year curriculum leading to a BS in Occupational Science and an
MS in Occupational Therapy. The expanded curriculum and small class size allow
faculty to provide an education of superior depth and scope.
