Greetings and Salutations,

Here in the Department of Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine at Duke
University, we are developing a human performance laboratory. The
architects have asked me what type of floor we want for the section of
the laboratory where we will be conducting our data collection, and I am
in turn asking you, the biomechanics community, for your opinions and
suggestions on what would be best. This part of the laboratory will
consist of a runway with force plates underneath the floor. All of our
testing will be conducted indoors on this floor and the types of
movements that we will be studying include walking, running, cutting,
landing from a jump, pivoting, etc. I am asking for opinions on what
type of surface will be best to use for our laboratory.

Thank you for answering,

Scott Colby
