Junior Research Fellowship in Orthopaedic Engineering

The College, with the support of Oxford Metrics, will make an election to
a Junior Research Fellowship in Orthopaedic Engineering in October 1997.
The successful candidate will join Professor John O'Connor's group at the
Oxford Orthopaedic Engineering Centre and, in collaboration with Oxford
Metrics, will continue development of a mathematical model of the human
locomotor system with anatomical joint constraints, animated with data
from a VICON gait analysis system and displayed using advanced computer
graphics. Customisation of the model to individual subjects is an
immediate objective. Applicants should be able to demonstrate relevant
experience and a publication record in the above field.

The salary will be on the RA1A scale. A limited amount of College
tutorial teaching for the Honour School of Engineering Science could be
undertaken.

Written Applications, with CV, list of publications and the names and
addresses of three referees, should reach the College Secretary, St
Peter's College, Oxford OX1 2DL (FAX No +44 1865 278855) by 22 August
1997. Applicants should explain in detail the relevance of their
experience to the project outlined above. Applications may be sent by
email to john.oconnor@st-peters.ox.ac.uk
