Dear Biomch-L readers,

Upon retrieving the Biomch-L list of subscribers via the

REVIEW BIOMCH-L (COUNTRIES

request to LISTSERV@HEARN.BITNET / LISTSERV@NIC.SURFNET.NL, I saw that we
are now past the 450 mark. As said at previous occasions (400, 350, etc.),
Krystyna, Ton, and myself do not wish to consider you all as numbers. Yet,
counting heads (or rather, brains) is at least one yardstick for the utility
of an E-mail forum like ours.

Regards -- Herman J. Woltring, Eindhoven/NL
(Also on behalf of Krystyna Gielo-Perczak, Warsaw/PL
and Ton van den Bogert, Calgary/CDN)

P.S.: Prof. J. Hoschek, the organiser of the Mathematics in Orthopaedics
Symposium mentioned in ATTJOB TEX as the source for my 1991 query
on Paul Volkmann's attitude "vector" kindly faxed this morning some
pages from the fifth edition of the following book describing the
vector THETA = theta N (expressed in gothic characters, though):

Max Lagally (1928), Vorlesungen ueber Vektorrechnung (Readings on
Vector Calculus). Leipzig, Akademische Verlagsgesellschaft Geest
& Portig K.-G. 1956 (edited by Walther Franz).
