Gait and Clinical Movement Analysis (GCMA) Meeting
CALL FOR ABSTRACTS & TUTORIALS
Submission Deadline: October 17, 1997

You are invited to participate in the 3rd Annual Gait and Clinical
Movement Analysis (GCMA) Meeting, sponsored by the North American
Society of Gait and Clinical Movement Analysis (NASGCMA) and hosted by
the Motion Analysis Laboratory of Children's Hospital, San Diego. This
is the first call for abstracts for the meeting, which will be held
April 15-18, 1998, in San Diego, California. Papers in all areas of
gait and clinical movement analysis are invited for both podium
addresses and poster presentations.

All abstracts must be received (not postmarked) by October 17, 1997.
Faxes and attached e-mail documents will not be accepted.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR SUBMISSION OF ABSTRACTS

Accepted abstracts will be published in a special issue of the journal
Gait and Posture. Due to the publisher's requirements, the page format
and submission deadline must be respected.

Abstracts are limited to two pages. The text on each page should be
contained in a 160 mm x 225 mm (6.3" x 8.8") area. Four copies of the
abstract should be submitted: one camera ready copy and three copies for
blind review. Page one of the camera-ready copy should include the
title of the paper, the author(s), and their affiliations. The
presenting author's name should be underlined. The three blinded copies
should not include either the authors or their affiliations. The
abstract should be divided into the following sections: Introduction,
Methodology, Results, Discussion, References, Acknowledgments. Authors
must ensure that the text and figures are legible when reduced to half
size. References should list first author only (followed by et al., if
appropriate), journal, volume(issue): page numbers, and year. Use 12
point type, preferably Times Roman, printed on white paper.

TUTORIALS

Proposals are also invited for two tutorials to be offered on Wednesday
afternoon, April 15th. Each tutorial should be no more than two hours
in length. Please submit a summary of the proposed tutorial and an
outline of its format, including the topic(s) to be covered by each
instructor and the time allotted for each topic. If the proposal is
accepted, the summary will be included in the conference registration
materials. It should include the title, instructor(s), purpose,
intended audience, prerequisite knowledge, and a description of the
course content (200 words). The tutorial summaries and outlines will
not be published in Gait and Posture.

NASGCMA will cover the registration fee (including banquet) for up to
two presenters of each tutorial chosen for presentation. An honorarium
of $200 will also be provided for each tutorial to cover preparation
costs (e.g., slides, copies of handouts, etc.).

Please print and complete the following Program Submission Form and
include it with your abstract or tutorial summary. If submitting an
abstract, please indicate if it is intended for presentation as a podium
address or as a poster, and whether you would present it under the other
format.
