We are presently reviewing issues related to severe injuries and
deaths that have occurred in pole vaulting. To date we have 25 such cases
in the USA compiled since 1986 by Fred Mueller, Ph.D.
My literature search has turned up nothing with regard to head and
neck injuries in pole vaulting. If you have any information related, in
any manner what so ever, to head/neck injuries in pole vaulting I would be
very thankful for your help.
For our netters outside of USA, does any one know of any rules or
standards for helmets for pole vaulters? (as some of you may be aware such
rules and standards do not presently exist in USA).
A summary will be posted.

Thanks in advance, Trey
