I am passing this question on for a colleague who recently measured grip
strength and would like some input regarding the results.

Grip strength was measured using a hand dynamometer under two conditions:
- arm hanging down at side with palm facing in toward body
- elbow flexed to 90 degrees with palm facing in toward body
(only change in position is the elbow flexion)

Grip strength was found to be significantly greater in the elbow flexed
position. Any ideas as to why this might have occurred? Anatomical

Your input would be greatly appreciated!

Please send replies to me and I will pass them along.

Thank you!
