View Full Version : cadence measures/shoes or no shoes

Dear fellow list readers,

We are about to embark on a longterm study examining gait parameters
in pre and post hip and knee replacement patients. Among other
things we are going to measure cadence, stride length, step length
etc but are unsure whether to do this with or without shoes (our
system allows for either). The literature reporting these measures
often does not state how it was collected (shoes or no shoes) but we
have found that it does affect the results ie. stride length is
longer with shoes on.
